Daal Roti Indian Curry Express offers fresh made Indian cuisine. We recently spoke with owner, Keval Brahmbhatt (on the right and pictured with the Site Manager Pardeep Singh) about the business and why he thinks it will do well in Bolton.
Tell us about your business.
Daal Roti is committed to serving the very best in Indian cuisine. Featuring only the finest, freshest ingredients, each dish is delicately prepared to highlight the robust flavours of the Bombay region. Our executive chef has worked in some of India’s most prestigious kitchens and is incredibly passionate about providing authentic, delicious, and beautiful fare. It is a franchise business and it has about 15 locations across Ontario.
Indian cuisine aroma, fresh blend of spices, and rich ingredients make it different and the best in every sense. Indian food is gaining attention all over the globe for its health benefits and delicious flavours.
Tell us about you, why did you decide to open your own business?
I came to Canada over a decade ago as an International student.
I’ve worked few jobs. My last job was Business account manager with Rogers.
I don’t live in Bolton currently but hopefully one day, I would love to buy a house in Bolton/Caledon area.
I chose this franchise because, being Indian, I always dreamt of opening an Indian restaurant. Indian cuisine is so special because of its variety of spices that make each dish exotic, delicious, and stand out from the rest of the cuisines in the world.
Why do you think this business will do well in Caledon?
There are many reasons I think it will do well in Caledon. This community is very friendly and welcoming. We have had many people come to us sharing how happy they are to have an Indian restaurant in town. Our food attracts many foodies and having the Landmark cinema right beside us will bring a good amount of traffic.
Also, what we offer is tasteful and aromatic. Our interior designer has designed this place so well with furniture, color, decor making it a good dine in experience. I have high hopes that the Caledon community won’t let us down and will try our dine in, take out and catering.
I have also noticed the Indian community growing in this area. It will be good for them as well they will no longer have to drive to Brampton or Vaughan to get authentic Indian food.
What is your favourite thing on the menu and why?
My favourite thing on the menu is Paneer Tikka Masala with naan/ rice, but everything we have on the menu is so delicious, I couldn’t name just one.
Everyone should try our food as well as our appetizers. For Chaat lovers (Indian street food) then we have a variety of options there as well.
Everything is made fresh in-house. Our chef does all prep work. We make our own dough for the naan / roti and have a tandoor in the kitchen to serve it fresh, it’s the same for all other dishes too, they’re all prepped in-house. Freshness is guaranteed.
What do you love about Caledon/Bolton?
Being a nature lover, I like Humber Valley Heritage Trail. I also enjoy movies, so Landmark cinema is my spot for new movies.
I still have much to explore in Bolton, once I get this business all settled.
I’m so impressed by this community, I have joined Facebook pages and see posts that show how people care, whether its related to safety or someone’s pet is on the loose, snow cleaning or help in moving, this community stands by each other and goes out of their way to help one another.
